From the nutritional and healthy, to the indulgently naughty but nice, Petersfield Town Centre came alive on 14th & 15th June with the Annual Festival of Food & Drink.

Over the weekend Petersfield’s restaurants, bars and coffee shops joined forces with dozens of local food producers for the Town’s annual culinary festival – designed to celebrate the fabulously diverse range of food the Town has to offer.

This year the Festival returned to the Town Centre and was crammed with food stalls from Hampshire’s producers serving the best artisan breads, homemade cakes and preserves, delicious sauces, organic meats and sweet delights.

It was a time for the whole family to roll up their sleeves and enjoy a whole host of live cooking demonstrations, talks and live music.

The most delicious weekend didn’t stop there.  Locals were able to taste the many gastronomic delights on offer cooked and supplied by local restaurateurs and chefs and presented as street food. Visitors were able to munch their way around the world such was the variety of foods stalls available along the High Street

The global route could take you from Indian curry sauces, to Italian pizza and pasta, Mediterranean ingredients, Spanish paella, Thai, Caribbean and Mexican flavourful cuisines, and that’s just for starters. There were wines from Chile, Australia, South Africa and California, and ciders from France and Somersetand locally brewed beers.

During festival week local restaurants and bars were invited to offer special festival menus, discounts, and great meal deals. Chefs from The Black Sheep and Cafe Mezzo took part in our Cook-off Challenge on stage on Sunday.

Slow Food Solent re-launched its activities at the Food Festival after a period of re-organisation with lots of activities, talks and cooking demos, plus the Slow Food Kids ‘Taste Adventure’, a fun and interactive activity which brings the senses to life.

The Petersfield Food Awards were held on Sunday 15th June on stage in the Town Square – congratulations to all our winners!

I have a catering business with my partner specialising in Thai and asian cuisine.
We would be very interested in providing a thai food offering at the Festival. We have been in the catering and hospitality business for more than 15 years and currently operate in pubs, shows and festivals as well as home catering.
We can provide traditionally cooked quality Thai food at affordable prices for consumers at your event and we believe this will enhance the mix of food offerings available.

If you are able to rent us a pitch please contact me by email or on 01489-787985 or mobile 07765864551,

    Kind regards,

    Pete Gartshore and Tuanjai Wongnimite

Also sad it’s leaving the town, as it must have been good for local business and revenue for the council with parking, also for people needing public transport.

I would like to book a stall at Petersfield Food and Drink Festival. We came to QECP last year promoting eating well and losing weight sensibly. Slimming World in Petersfield is now based at the Football Clubhouse, Love Lane. I hear you are moving back to the Market Square for 2014. Please book us a stall. Thank you Lynda Eggleton

I’d like to book a stand with Utility Warehouse, as per Petersfield, is this OK? I’ve already printed off the booking form.
